Requirements:	Proof of old VHF Licence ROC(M) is required for the DSC upgrade. Bring copy for CPS records.
Classes:	Starts Saturday, September 18, 2010 (2 sessions) Starts Monday, October 25, 2010 (2 sessions)
Time:	Tuesday: 7 PM to 9 PM Saturday: 10AM to 3PM (approx.)

Cost:	$55.00 Advance registration is required Cash or Cheque payable to Sur-Del Squadron. Visa or MasterCard NOT accepted. Fees include DSC Book and CD.

Description

If you have taken the VHF Course and can show proof - you now can upgrade by taking the DSC (Digital Selective Calling) Course. This is 1 night of instruction by a qualified Instructor. The following week - you will get a 1 hr. review and then proceed to write the DSC Exam.

You may be purchasing the NEW Marine Radio which has the DSC button on it—so you will need to upgrade for it.

The DSC portion of the course is all about the latest advances in Maritime Radio Communications, the new radios, how the systems work and how to operate them. Also covered are other systems that are part of the International Global Maritime Distress & Safety System (GMDSS).

Once completing this upgrade you will be entitled to the New Radiotelephone Operators Card (ROC) which will be mailed to you.
