Description
The Maritime Radio Course covers proper use of the
Maritime Radio, how to handle Distress, Urgency and Safety
Communications, use of the Phonetic Alphabet and much more. Also
includes the DSC (Digital Selective Calling) which is the latest
advances in Maritime Radio communications, which also covers other
systems that are part of the International Global Maritime Distress and
Safety System ( GMDSS ), thus enhancing your rescue in an
emergency.
Upon Successful Completion of the Exam you will be given
a Temporary Pink Operators Copy which is good for 90 days.
Meantime CPS will be sending you the Lifetime Restricted
Radiotelephone Operators Certificate ( ROC ) as soon as they receive
the information....within the 90 days. Industry Canada has
designated the authority to Canadian Power Squadrons to certify
Maritime Radio Operators on voluntarily fitted vessels.
The Restricted Operator Certificate (Maritime-ROC(M)) is
required by anyone using a marine radio (Significant fines if found
using a VHF or Marine Radio without your card)
